Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated in any form.
14 classes
Grading policy is subject to change.
You must submit every paper and the term project/paper assignment to pass the class.
If you have an average >= 90% you will be assured an A. Otherwise your final grade depends on the performance of the class as a whole.

| Class Discussion | 20 | 20% | 1.5 points per class for discussion. | Please participate in each class. |
| Present In Class | 10 | 10% | Present a topic of special interest to you in class and lead class discussions. | Slides and other presentation materials due 24 hours before class. |
| Term Project/Paper | 25 | 25% | Details of point breakdown will be found with project details. | Due second to last day of class |
| Papers | 30 | 30% | Estimated 7 single page papers at 5 points each. The lowest paper grade will be dropped. | Due by beginning of class. |
| Quizzes | 15 | 15% | Expect 6 quizzes worth 3 points each on the assigned reading material. Each quiz will be cumulative. The lowest quiz grade will be dropped. | Given at the beginning of class. Don't be late. |
| Final Exam - Optional | 100 | 0% or 15% | An optional Final Exam will be offered to those wishing to replace their class discussion grade. | Will be given last day of class after student presentations are done. |
| Extra Credit | 10 | ? | I hope to give 10 extra credit opportunities during the course worth 1-2 points each. The weight will depend on what those opportunities end up being. | Due by beginning of class. |

- +1 point - Turn in paper
- +1 point - Make point
- +1 point - Defend point
- +1 point - State possible counter point
- +1 point - Respond to counter point
- -1 point - May be deducted for poor writing quality
- -1 point - May be deducted if you fail to provide references for the facts you use in your paper.

Present In Class
- 4 points - Quality of material prepared for presentation
- 4 points - Presenting in class
- 2 points - Answering questions and reply to counter points raised during discussion
